Sign up now for ’08 appointment

During the next two months, ISBA President-elect Jack C. Carey of Belleville will be filling out the rosters of 37 section councils and 23 committees for the 2008-09 year.

Carey has called on ISBA members to nominate themselves for the more than a thousand appointments that he will make. Section and committee leadership ranks high in the ability of the state bar association to have an impact on matters that affect a wide range of law practices.

The list of section councils and committees, and an application form, are published in this issue of the ISBA Bar News. Members are urged to indicate their interests well before the Feb. 8 deadline.

Substantive experience and a willingness to serve the profession are factors in the process. Diversity is also a consideration.
