The ISBA serves members by drafting and supporting Illinois state legislation important to the profession and the public. The Legislative Affairs Department sends proposals for bills to the appropriate ISBA section or committee for recommendation to the Legislation Committee. ISBA also takes stands on federal legislation that affects the legal profession and the administration of justice. The Legislative Affairs Department publishes the twice-monthly Capitol Chronicle to help ISBA members keep abreast of state and federal legislation.
