HB 835 - Municipal Code - Override Mayor Veto
Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that if the mayor fails to approve a resolution, motion, or ordinance, the city council or village board shall reconsider that resolution, motion, or ordinance at the meeting following the meeting at which the members receive the mayor's written objection. Includes exemptions for the city of Chicago. P.A. 91-489; effective 1-1-2000.
SB 171 - Municipal Code - Deputy Police & Fire Chiefs
Amends the Municipal Code to provide that in municipalities with a police force greater than 25, the police chief may appoint two deputy chiefs. In police forces less than 25, one deputy chief may be appointed. Establishes qualifications for deputy chiefs and positions are exempt from Board of Police and Fire Commission. SB 826 - Compensation of Corporate Authorities
Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the ordinance fixing compensation for the corporate authorities must specify whether they are to be compensated (1) at an annual rate, or (2) for each meeting of the corporate authorities actually attended, or (3) members may be compensated for each meeting of corporate authorities actually attended if public notice was given of the meeting (now, the members may be compensated for each meeting actually attended). P.A. 91-208; effective 1-1-2000.
SB 1071 - Public Official/Land Disclosure
Amends the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act. Requires disclosure of the identity of members, limited partners, and general partners, as well as shareholders, entitled to receive more than 7 1/2% of the distributable income of a limited liability company or limited partnership, as well as a corporation, that has an interest in real property that is the subject of a contract with the State or a unit of local government. Requires names of owners of an entity that wholly or partially owns an entity that is entering into such a contract. P.A. 91-361; effective 7-29-99.
