Senior lawyers learn to prepare The second free ISBA Senior Lawyers Section seminar to cover the considerations facing older attorneys will be presented from 1 to 4:05 p.m. Friday, April 27, at the Holiday Inn, Collinsville. “From Legal Practice to What's Next: The Boomer-Lawyer's Guide to a Smooth Transition” is coordinated by ISBA first assistant counsel Melinda J. Bentley of Springfield. ISBA past president Loren S. Golden of Elgin will provide opening remarks and introduce speakers on issues that affect the senior lawyer. They are: Rule of Professional Conduct 1.17 on Sale of a Law Practice and Transitioning Your Practice; Receiverships under Supreme Court Rule 776, and Registration Status with ARDC and the ISBA. A similar seminar, with some additional speakers, is planned Friday, May 11, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Springfield. A video replay will be presented Friday, May 25, in the ISBA Chicago office. |
