Bar unity dinner is Sept. 5

ISBA President Irene F. Bahr will be sworn in again, symbolically, during a Unity Award dinner, “Diversity Reaching New Heights,” on Tuesday, Sept. 5, in the Grand Ballroom of the Chicago Hilton Hotel.

The John Marshall Law School and the Filipino American Bar Association are co-sponsors of the fourth annual All-Bar President Swearing-in Ceremony and Symposium. As many as 500 lawyers, state and federal judges, law school faculty and students are expected to attend.

Awards will be presented to an honorary board of directors consisting of Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans of Cook County Circuit Court, Judge Jesse G. Reyes, president of the Illinois Judges Association, and Supreme Court Justice Anne M. Burke.

A 5:30 p.m. reception will precede the dinner, swearing-in ceremony and award presentations. Anita Padilla of NBC Channel 5 will be mistress of ceremonies.
