O'Connor to be lauded Oct. 28

The Illinois State Bar Association will join the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation in presentation of the first Lincoln Leadership Prize to retired U.S. Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O'Connor this fall.

O'Connor will be honored for her commitment to justice and the rule of law at a black tie dinner in the rotunda of the Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield on Saturday, October 28. Also being honored are Illinois Supreme Court justices Rita B. Garman and Anne M. Burke, and retired justice Mary Ann G. McMorrow.

Attorney and television personality Bill Kurtis will be master of ceremonies.

ISBA will be listed as a major sponsor of the dinner and other events surrounding the presentation of the inaugural Leadership Prize. Further details, including how to obtain tickets for the dinner, will be in the September issue of the Bar News.
