DePaul Law Alumni to honor Irene Bahr

ISBA President Irene F. Bahr will be honored by the DePaul University College of Law Alumni Board on Thursday, Sept. 21, during its 13th annual awards luncheon in the Palmer House Hilton, Chicago.

Bahr, a 1977 DePaul law graduate, will receive the Distinguished Alumna Award, the highest distinction bestowed by the alumni board.

The award “recognizes alumni who have reached the pinnacle of their careers, maintaining a high level of excellence over their lifetimes,” the board said, and “have enhanced the prestige of DePaul by virtue of their character, integrity and personal accomplishments.”

Also being honored are the following DePaul alumni:

Chester A. Lizak of DiMonte & Lizak, Park Ridge, the Outstanding Service to the Profession Award, for excellence and achievement that exemplifies the DePaul mission. He received the Advocates Society Award of Excellence earlier this year.

Dawn Gonzalez of Litchfield Cavo, Chicago, the Outstanding Young Alumna Award, for showing promise in career and service to the university. She is past president of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois.

Steve Rudolph, editor of CCH Aviation Law Reporter, the Outstanding Service to DePaul University Award, for giving significant amounts of time, talent and effort to support the DePaul mission.

The alumni board will present a Faculty Service Award to Prof. John Decker, director of the field placement and criminal law programs, for excellence in teaching through enthusiasm, commitment and dedication.

The luncheon and award presentations will be preceded by a reception at 11:30 a.m. For reservations at $50 per person, call (800) 437-1898 or e-mail alumnievents@depaul.edu.
