ISBA pamphlets provide helpful data for public A wide array of information for the public is available from ISBA, both in the form of printed pamphlets and on the home page, www.isba.org. The ISBA series of public information pamphlets contains 19 titles. The contents are reviewed regularly to keep up with changes in the law. “Bankruptcy for Individuals” is the most recent pamphlet to undergo revisions, reflecting changes in federal law. Individual copies are provided at no cost to the public, or can be purchased in bulk for distribution through law offices and other locations. New titles are regularly added, and Spanish language pamphlets will be available in the near future. In addition to the printed pamphlets, additional public information posted on the ISBA home page includes “The Law Serves You,” a series of newspaper columns distributed each month to weekly newspapers in Illinois. In addition to the Bankruptcy pamphlet, other pamphlets include: Adoption, Advice to Newly Marrieds, Auto Accidents, Being a Guardian, Buying a Car, Buying a Home, Selling a Home, Buying on Time, and Estate Planning. Others are General Practitioner, Getting a Divorce, Know Your Lawyer, Landlord/Tenant, Living Trust, Starting a Business, Your Health Care, Patients' Rights, and Your Rights if Arrested. Pamphlets are sold in 100-copy, shrink-wrapped packets and are priced from $5.50 to $9.50 per hundred, depending on the size. A clear plastic rack with slots for six titles is also available for display purposes in the law office. Additional consumer information posted on the ISBA home page includes: Laws Protecting Military Personnel, A Brief Guide for Parents to Juvenile Court Abuse and Neglect Proceedings, Auto Insurance, Consumer Protection Laws, Renters Have Legal Rights and Obligations, and Becoming an Adult.
