Associations Decatur Bar roasts Rex Brown Rex L. Brown received more than a Senior Counselor certificate from the Decatur Bar Association during its annual meeting that followed a recent golf outing. Brown was also roasted by his law partners, son Britt A. Brown and Elmer C. Hawkins, in a mirthful tribute to his long service to the Decatur Bar as a liaison with the Illinois State Bar Association. A longtime member of the ISBA Assembly, Rex Brown served during the past year as vice chair of the Illinois Lawyers Political Action Committee (LAWPAC) and a member of the Elder Law Section Council and Committee on Law Related Education for the Public. Also receiving Senior Counselor certificates were Robert W. Ohlsen and Asher O. Geisler. The Russell D. Hoerbert Pro Bono Award was presented to Bridget C. Hogan. Golfing honors went to Thomas E. Griffith and Frederic L. Kenney. Keith W. Casteel was installed as president, along with President-elect Steven C. Langhoff, Secretary Phoebe S. Bowers and Treasurer Amy M. Waks.
