Dell offering new notebook, desktop lines Dell, an ISBA-affiliated computer products vendor, has announced the availability of Vostro, a new brand of notebook and desktop computers designed for businesses with 25 or fewer employees. The company's first new system brand in more than a decade, Vostro allows the purchaser to use its own software and offers tools for data backup, PC performance and health, and specialized network support for offices without technology staffs. Services include DellConnect, by which technicians may troubleshoot and repair systems remotely over a broadband connection, and DataSafe, a 10GB online backup feature. Dell also offers an automated PC tune-up service to keep systems running efficiently, and Network Assistant, to connect easily to simple wired or wireless networks. While adding Vostro, Dell will no longer offer Dimension desktops, and will limit marketing of Inspiron notebooks to individual consumers. Latitude and Optiplex notebooks and desktops will continue to be offered to small businesses. Vostro is priced in line with Dell's previous systems and will be offered to ISBA members with the same discount structure. For complete details, access www.dell.com/webelieve.
