Fastcase's “Quick Caselaw Search” A Boon to Repeat Users

Ease of searching is a particular strength of Fastcase, the ISBA's partner for online legal research. But as John Marshall Law School Professor Thomas Keefe writes in the forthcoming (January) Illinois Bar Journal, Fastcase's relatively new “Quick Caselaw Search” search feature makes displaying and reviewing your search results easier than ever.

“The search box retains application settings from previous searches,” Keefe writes in the soon-to-be-published edition of his “Finding Illinois Law” column. “Thus, if you always search the same jurisdiction (e.g., Illinois) using the same search technique and you like your cases displayed the same way (e.g., title only), you need go no further than this screen. In fact, if you're working on the same project you can even see, and re-execute, your most recent searches.”

Read Keefe's column to learn more about Fastcase's search functionality, display options (such as dual column printing), and other features.

Fastcase is free to all ISBA members. To sign up, follow one of the Fastcase links at www.isba.org or go straight to http://www.isba.org/fastcase/gate.asp.
