Appellate Lawyers schedule downstate district lunches

The Appellate Lawyers Association has announced its annual schedule of luncheon meetings in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Judicial Districts, where Appellate Court justices will be honored. Call (312) 554-2090 for reservations to the following:

2nd District – Tuesday, March 7, at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way; 11:30 a.m. reception, 12:15 p.m. lunch.

3rd District – Thursday, March 9, at the Uptown Grill, 601 First St., LaSalle; 12 noon reception, 12:30 p.m. lunch.

4th District – Wednesday, April 5, at Biaggi's Ristorante, Bloomington; 12 noon reception, 12:30 p.m. luncheon.

Candidates for election to the Appellate Court in the 1st District have been invited by the association to speak during a luncheon Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Chicago Athletic Association, beginning with a 12 noon reception.

Also scheduled is a special seminar, “The Settlement Option on Appeal: An Additional Tool in the Repertoire of the Full-service Appellate Practitioner,” from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at Mayer, Brown, Rose & Maw, Chicago.

Justice Mary Jane Theis will be moderator for a panel consisting of Justices Joseph Gordon and Michael Gallagher.

 

Black History Month

The Black Women Lawyers Association, Cook County Bar Association and Illinois Judicial Council are co-sponsors of Black History Month courthouse tours being conducted by the Cook County Circuit Court.

Bohemian Lawyers

Constitution Society
