Honoraria Joseph Owens doubly honored Chicago attorney Joseph C. Owens, an ISBA Senior Counsellor, received a Distinguished Service Award on Dec. 7 from the Neumann Association for 50 years of service on its board of directors. He also received a Melvyn Jones Award for lifetime achievement from the Lions Club. • • • William J. Anaya of Arnstein & Lehr, Chicago, recently received the Addis E. Hull Award from the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education as a leader in quality, scholarly CLE in the state. Anaya is a member of the ISBA Real Estate Law Section Council and Environmental Law Section Council. • • • Chicago attorney Linda S. Coon received the Court of Honor Award from the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation during its 25th annual award ceremony on Nov. 8 at Gardner, Carton & Douglas. Coon, who is legal services director for the Family Options Project, was honored for her efforts in creating legislation that has focused the attention of courts on the best interests of children and the disabled. Distinguished Service Awards were presented to volunteer representatives of 14 affiliated legal clinics and the panel referral program. CVLS also presented a Clinic Award to the Polish National Alliance for 154 years of extraordinary support of staff and facilities for Amicus Poloniae, a neighborhood legal clinic in the Polish community. Retiring CVLS board president Geoffrey A. Vance of McDermott, Will and Emery was recognized for leadership, wise counsel and unwavering support. Retiring board members Stephen Anderson, Larayne J. Balson, Judge A. Benjamin Goldgar, Alan L. Goodman and Jesus Perez also received awards. • • • Chicago attorneys David L. Hanson and Brenda A. Russell, director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security, have been elected trustees of the Union League Boys and Girls Clubs. Hanson is a past president of the Union League Club of Chicago. Russell serves on the ULCC board and chairs the Public Affairs Committee. • • • Assistant DuPage County state's attorney Jane Radostits has been named Prosecutor of the Year by the Illinois Prosecutors Bar Association. A former assistant Cook County state's attorney, she is deputy chief of special prosecutions related to domestic violence, child abuse, narcotics trafficking, gang crimes, public integrity and financial crimes.
