Foundation fetes past presidents Past presidents of the Illinois Bar Foundation will be honored Friday, Jan. 19, during a 6:30 p.m. dinner in the Union League Club of Chicago. All 14 living past presidents have been invited, from Lloyd J. Tyler (1971-75) to Russell K. Scott (2004-06). Tyler and Maurice E. Bone (1982-84) also have served as presidents of the Illinois State Bar Association. The Bar Foundation was established 55 years ago during the tenure of Joseph H. Hinshaw as ISBA president. He headed both the association and foundation in 1951-52. • • • The Bar Foundation has scheduled three special events during the year. Mark your calendar and call (312) 726-6072 for details. They are: Friday, April 27, a 6:30 p.m. benefit buffet reception and baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals in Busch Stadium. Monday, Sept. 10, recognition of Pillars of the Bar in conjunction with the Sangamon County Bar Association golf outing at Illini Country Club, Springfield. Friday, Oct. 19, the annual black-tie benefit gala dinner-dance at the Four Seasons Hotel, Chicago. |
