Members of the ISBA International and Immigration Law Section are planning to participate in events of the annual conference of the International Bar Association, which will take place Sept. 17 to 22 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.
Among special sessions that will be attended by lawyers from around the world is a presentation on Monday, Sept. 18, by the IBA Public and Professional Interest Division on the power of judicial reform to advance economic and social stability.
Another session of the Legal Practice Division on Wednesday, Sept. 20, will explore the shifting environment of corporate governance reform in light of recent events.
The IBA Human Rights Institute will benefit from proceeds of a gala charity concert of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on the evening of Sept. 20. ISBA members are invited to attend for $35 per ticket.

The IBA conference will be preceded Sept. 16 and 17 by a joint symposium with the American Bar Association at the Westin Hotel. The title is “Advancing the Rule of Law to Solve Global Problems.”
