Sunday Runners to enter Race Judicata

The ISBA Sunday Runners will field a team for Race Judicata 2007, a benefit 5K Sprint for Justice held annually by the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation.

The event will take place Thursday, Aug. 9, on Upper Hutchinson Field, Columbus and Balbo Drives. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m.

The first wave of runners will take off at 6:30 p.m., followed by walkers. A post-race party and award presentations will follow.

Entry fees are $33 per person through Aug. 3, and $38 thereafter. The first 2,800 participants (plus all volunteer helpers) will receive goody bags and T-shirts.

The DuPage Legal Aid Foundation will hold its annual benefit outing to a Kane County Cougars minor league baseball game on Friday, July 27, at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva.

The 6:30 p.m. contest will be preceded by a picnic supper on the center field deck from 5 to 7 p.m. A fireworks display will follow the game.

Northbrook attorney Barry S. Silver will participate in the Pleasant Prairie Olympic Distance Triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 19, to raise funds for pediatric cancer research at Children's Memorial Research Center, in conjunction with the North Suburban Medical Research Junior Board.

This is the eighth year that Silver has competed in a triathlon in support of the Leukemia Society of America, the Les Turner ALS Foundation, Y-Me of Chicagoland, and other charities.
