Dykema Gossett has named Chicago partner
Allan J. Sternstein leader of its nationwide Intellectual Property Practice Group.
Former division patent counsel for Abbott Laboratories, Sternstein has practiced with several law firms and corporations since 1973. He teaches patent litigation as an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois College of Law.
James R. Dougherty
has joined the Lisle office of Dykema Gossett as an associate in product and professional liability and commercial litigation. He was with a New York-based international firm.

Burkhart has been chief counsel for technology with the U.S. Department of Commerce and head of the chief counsel office for industry and security in export administration and enforcement. He practiced in Illinois with Sorling, Northrup, Hanna, Cullen & Cochran from 1984 to 2003.
