Bar charity events slated The 14th annual Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation benefit 5K Race Judicata Sprint for Justice will take place Thursday, Aug. 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Hutchinson Field in Grant Park, where Balbo and Columbus Drives meet. The 2006 event raised $150,000 for legal services to low-income families and individuals by CVLS staff and volunteer attorneys. The first 2,800 participants will receive goody bags, and all may enjoy free food, refreshments and live music at the conclusion of the lakeside course run.
