Board of Governors welcomes five new members in July When the ISBA Board of Governors convenes in July for its first meeting of the 2007-08 year, there will be five new faces around the table. Newly elected last month are Russell W. Hartigan and Mark E. Wojcik of Chicago, Bernard Wysocki of Waukegan, Stephen R. Pacey of Paxton and Dion U. Davi of Wheaton. They will join Chicago attorneys Paula Hudson Holderman and John G. Locallo, incumbent board members who were re-elected to three-year terms. Russ Hartigan is not a true newcomer. He served on the Board of Governors previously for six years before terming off, and has been an Assembly member for five terms. A partner in Hartigan & Cuisinier and a 1976 graduate of The John Marshall Law School, Hartigan is a trustee of the Village of Western Springs and Lyons Township. He is vice president of the John Marshall Alumni Association and past president of the Lyons Township Mental Health Board. Mark Wojcik is a professor at The John Marshall Law School, where he was a cum laude graduate. He received an ISBA Board of Governors Award as past chair of the International and Immigration Law Section Council and member of the Human Rights Section Council. Wojcik also has served on the Com-mittee on Legal Education, Admission and Competence and the Committee on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, and is a past president of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago. Bernard Wysocki, a partner in Wysocki & Smith and a 1974 graduate of the Washington University Law School, has been an Assembly member for 10 years. He is a past chair of the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section Council and the Committee on Membership and Bar Activities. A past president of the Lake County Bar Association, Wysocki is mayor of the Village of Green Oaks and a member of the Illinois and Lake County Municipal Leagues. Judge Steve Pacey of the 11th Circuit, a 1974 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law, has served on the ISBA Assembly for nine years. He is a past chair of the Committee on Judicial Advisory Polls and the Committee on the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. A member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Council and former member of the Juvenile Justice Section Council, Pacey was a founder of the Ford County Restorative Justice Program and planner of the ISBA Balanced and Restorative Justice Conference. Dion Davi was unopposed for election as an under age 37 member of the board. He has served on the ISBA Assembly, the Young Lawyers Division Council and the Committee on Government Lawyers and is a representative to the American Bar Association Young Lawyer Assembly. A 2003 graduate of The John Marshall Law School and former assistant DuPage County state's attorney, Davi is an associate with Mirabella, Kincaid, Fredrick & Mirabella. He is treasurer of the DuPage County chapter of the Justinian Society. |
