New aldermen are law grads

Three of the nine newly elected aldermen on the Chicago City Council have law degrees.

Robert W. Fioretti , a partner in Fioretti, Lower & Carbonara, is a 1978 graduate of the Northern Illinois University College of Law. He is a former supervising attorney in the Chicago corporation counsel's General Litigation Division.

Fioretti (2nd Ward) is past president of both the NIU Alumni Association and Law Alumni Association. He serves on the Supreme Court Character and Fitness Committee.

Sandi Jackson (7th Ward) is a 1992 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law. She was deputy political director for training of the Democratic National Committee before her election, and is a former vice president of the U.S. Export-Import Bank.

Scott Waguespack (32nd Ward) is a graduate of the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he worked on American Bar Association projects with Balkan governments. He also helped implement the Global Chicago collaboration of economic, cultural and intellectual institutions.
