Award weighs gender concerns The ISBA Committee on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) plans to present its inaugural award for community leadership this year during the Annual Meeting at The Abbey on Lake Geneva. Nominations are due Friday, April 28. Eligible individuals will have worked by example and education to eliminate discrimination and to foster understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and issues of concern to them. The award recipient may be a judge, a lawyer, an educator, a member of a state or local government body, or of a community activist group that is involved in legal issues relating to the SOGI community. Letters of nomination must include the name, address, e-mail address and telephone number of the nominee and the nominator; brief biographical information and employment affiliation; a brief statement in support of the nomination and other information helpful to the selection committee.
