ISSUE STATEMENT: Because the ISBA is an im--portant organization, more than one person should want to become its president. Lawyers should want to undertake the serious responsibility of leading this association into the future. The ISBA is stronger when more than one person wants to be its leader. I am dedicated to the professional education of future lawyers, and to their meaningful involvement in the bar association. I also believe we all benefit from having a stronger voice in the legal education community. I am troubled when ISBA members do not renew their memberships; we must ensure that even our least active members find value, support, and opportunity. I also believe in diversity. Our professional ethics rules and a new state statute prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation; I am running to support our commitment to diversity and equal opportunity for everyone.
