DuPage roast aids charities

Turnabout will be fair play for Wheaton attorney Joseph F. Mirabella Jr., a past president of the DuPage County Bar Association who is known for wisecracks about colleagues of the bench and bar in the 18th Circuit.

Mirabella will be the target of good-natured jibes during a reception and roast at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Hilton Hotel in Lisle. Call (630) 653-7779 for reservations at $100 per person.

The event is a benefit for the DuPage County Bar Foundation, which supports scholarships, public service projects, and administration of justice grants to community organizations.

Batavia attorney Frank J. Giampoli, who is being treated for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, has become the inspiration for a series of events that raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

He will be honored during a benefit triathlon this spring and serve as an honorary sailor in an August regatta that he had organized for several years before he was diagnosed last October.
