New lawyers get Basic Skills' program A three-day program, Basic Skills: The New Attorney's Introduction to the Effective Practice of Law, will be conducted Thursday through Saturday, April 12-14, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Springfield. Sponsored by the Illinois State Bar Association and Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the presentation is designed to help the new attorney meet the 15-hour Illinois Supreme Court MCLE requirement. Each ISBA member who attends will receive free admission to two future Law Ed seminars during the second year of membership.
