Charitable benefits slated
A 5K run and walk, Put Your Foot Down, has been scheduled Thursday, June 8, as a benefit for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cook County, a prior recipient of an Illinois Bar Foundation grant.
Registration will begin at 5 p.m. at the Soldier Field Lakefront Trail, and the race is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. For details, contact Jenna Daugherty at (312) 622-3055 or jenna.daughtery@casacookcounty.org.
Proceeds will help train and support volunteers who advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in the juvenile system. More than 200 active volunteers regularly visit many of the 11,400 victims who are involved in court matters.
