Loyola law student earns DuPage Bar's scholarship
Timothy Brennan of Naperville, a first-year student at the Loyola University School of Law, received a $2,000 scholarship from the DuPage County Bar Association during a Law Day luncheon April 27 in Winfield.
Brennan is the 13th recipient of the Hartman E. Stime Scholarship, named for a former DCBA member who was recognized for pro bono and community service to the county's poor and elderly.
Following in Stime's footsteps, Brennan already has been a volunteer for the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago. He has been an AmeriCorps VISTA paralegal and an instructor for young offenders at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame in business administration, he re–ceived a Barth Scholarship in accounting and was an associate at Deloitte & Touche.
Neal W. Cerne, president of the DuPage County Bar Foundation, said Brennan's “work with the indigent exemplifies Hartman Stime's commitment to community service. The scholarship is one of the many ways the DuPage legal community encourages those who seek to join our profession.”
