CARPLS raps Golden Gavels

The Coordinated Advice and Referral Program for Legal Services (CARPLS) will present a Ralph A. Gabric Award for lifetime achievement to Sheldon H. Roodman, retiring executive director of the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, during its annual reception this month.

Attorney Lester Munson, an associate editor of Sports Illustrated, is master of ceremonies for the program, at which awards will be given to the law firm of Brinks, Hofer, Gilson & Lione and the Brunswick Corp.

In addition to a buffet and beverages, entertainment will be provided by the Scales of Justice and a fund-raising raffle will be conducted.

Tickets are $100 per person. For reservations, call (312) 421-4014. For information about CARPLS, a Cook County legal assistance hotline, access www.carpls.org.
