Lawyers share time, talent

Chicago attorney Jeffrey J. Kroll has been elected to the DePaul University Board of Trustees. A graduate of DePaul's College of Law, he is an adjunct professor of trial advocacy and medical malpractice law.

A partner in the Clifford Law Offices, Kroll has served on DePaul's development committee and the Special Gifts Task Force.

Chicago attorney William R. Coulson, a Glenview resident, was appointed April 1 to the 13-person Regional Transportation Authority Board of Governors by its suburban members. He serves on the Planning and Mobility Limited Committees.

A former assistant U.S. attorney and partner in Gold & Coulson, he is a past president of the Chicago chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

Jill L. Murch, a partner in Foley & Lardner, Chicago, was elected April 1 to a one-year term as chair of the Chicago Network of the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.

During her tenure the organization will hold a benefit high tea on Friday, Dec. 14, at the Four Seasons Hotel, to support women's charities.

Cook County Judge Alexander P. White was inducted into the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers on March 2 during a joint meeting of the Labor and Employment Law and Tort Trial and Insurance Practices Sections of the American Bar Association.

A member of the ISBA Assembly, White is an associate newsletter editor on the State and Local Taxation Section Council and a member of the Committee on Military Affairs.

Karen H. Flax of Chicago, senior counsel in the Publishing Law Department of the Tribune Co., has been appointed to the board of directors of the Illinois Press Association.

A former partner in Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal and law clerk for Judge Hubert L. Will of U.S. District Court, Flax joined the Tribune legal staff in 2000.
