May admissions add 824 to bar

A total of 824 new lawyers were admitted by the Illinois Supreme Court during five ceremonies on May 10.

In Cook County, 560 admittees took the oath at Navy Pier. ISBA President Irene F. Bahr welcomed the class to the Illinois bar. Other ceremonies were:

2nd District – 87 admitted in Hemmens Memorial Building, Elgin, with remarks from Third Vice President John G. O'Brien.

3rd District – 12 admitted in the Appellate Courthouse, Ottawa, with remarks from President-elect Joseph G. Bisceglia.

4th District – 12 admitted in the Supreme Court Building, Springfield, with remarks by John E. Thies of the Board of Governors.

5th District – 152 admitted in the Gateway Convention Center, Collinsville, with remarks by Second Vice President Jack C. Carey.

ISBA receptions followed the four downstate ceremonies.
