Citizen-soldier retires

Hinsdale attorney Stephen J. Connolly, a member of the ISBA Committee on Military Affairs, has retired as a citizen-soldier after 37 years in the Army Reserve.

A partner in Connolly, Ekl & Williams, Connolly began his military career in 1968 by enlisting in the Army. He received a commission in 1975 and was a colonel at the time of his retirement.

A trial judge in court martial proceedings, he was staff judge advocate with the 85th Division Training Support in Arlington Heights and former commander of the 7th Military Law Center at Fort Sheridan.

Connolly has represented the Army in cases before the Illinois Supreme Court and U.S. Supreme Court. He received the Legion of Merit Award for dedicated service to his country.
