ISBA Mutual elects Bahr, honors Mirza for service

ISBA President-elect Irene F. Bahr of Wheaton was elected to the board of directors of the ISBA Mutual Insurance Co. during its Sept. 28 meeting.

Bahr's previous ex officio position as liaison from the ISBA Board of Governors has been filled by Third Vice President Jack Carey of Belleville.

The ISBA Mutual board also honored ISBA past president Jerome Mirza with the special title of founder and director emeritus in recognition of his significant efforts in creation of the state bar association's successful malpractice insurance carrier in 1988.

Current officers are board Chair Ronald J. Guild, President Jon W. DeMoss, Vice Presidents James J. Elson, Ole Bly Pace III and Robert K. Downs, Secretary-treasurer Leo J. Sullivan III, and assistant secretary-treasurer Jeffrey B. Strand.

Strand also is vice president and chief financial officer, Melissa Kaplan is vice president of claims, and Kurt B. Bounds is vice president of business development and service.

Other board members are Leonard F. Amari, John B. Cashion, David A. Decker, James J. DeSanto, Herbert H. Franks, Celia G. Gamrath, Loren S. Golden, Murphy C. Hart, Terrence K. Hegarty, Tom Leahy, Christopher Mullen, Catherine A. Pratt, Todd A. Smith, David B. Sosin and Richard L. Thies.
