Court Web site is redesigned

The Illinois Supreme Court and the Ad--ministrative Office of the Illinois Courts have redesigned the appearance and content of the Illinois judiciary Web site at www.state.il.us/court.

The new format that went online Nov. 1 makes it easier to locate the most frequently accessed information and contains several features to help the public, educators and legal professionals, Chief Justice Robert R. Thomas said.

Nearly all of the new features can be accessed from the site's home page, including an audio-video message from Thomas. A Quick Links section opens to court documents such as opinions, dockets and announcements.

Among the new features is Citizen Self-Help, a guide to the court system with links to information about citizens' rights and responsibilities, legal resources, and an Illinois attorney locator.

Other links include the Web sites of all Illinois judicial circuits, biographies of Supreme and Appellate Court justices, 50 state governments and judiciaries, MCLE information, the ARDC and Board of Admissions.

Users may subscribe to any of 18 list services to receive free e-mail notifications of opinions, announcements, procurement opportunities and other information.
