DUI decisions book updated The ISBA has published its 20th anniversary edition of “DUI and Traffic-Related Decisions,” written and updated by Cook County Judge Daniel M. Locallo, a member of the Criminal Justice Section Council. The soft-cover book includes every traffic-related decision from January 1986 through December 2005, and analyses of those decisions. Sections include driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs, implied consent, driving with a suspended or revoked license, hit and run, reckless driving, reckless homicide, and speeding. A miscellaneous section covers disobeying traffic control devices, driving too fast for conditions, eluding the police, and numerous other issues. “This is an important book to the practicing bar because it gives the practitioner an important insight into case law,” said Locallo, a Law Division judge who heard traffic cases in the city and suburbs from 1986 to 1989. “It expands on the most recent edition of the book, published in 1999, and it describes what is essential in proving and defending traffic cases based on what the higher courts have ruled.” “DUI and Traffic-Related Decisions” is available at $24.50 for ISBA members and $34.50 for non-members.
