‘Originalism' essays published

“Originalism: A Quarter Century of Debate” is the title of a 25th anniversary collection of essays published by the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies.

Co-founder Steven G. Calabresi, a professor of constitutional law at the Northwestern University School of Law, has compiled speeches and debate excerpts by prominent legal experts, with a foreword by Justice Antonin Scalia.

Among the authors are William J. Brennan Jr., Robert H. Bork, Edwin Meese III, Frank Easterbrook, Cass Sunstein and Calabresi.

Preventing biothreats

“BIOVIOLENCE: Preventing Biological Terror and Crime,” a book by DePaul University College of Law Prof. Barry S. Kellman, has been published by Cambridge University Press.

The author reviews the dangers that arise when biology is employed in the hostile use of diseases such as smallpox, botulism and Ebola to inflict widespread fear and destruction.

Kellman heads DePaul's International Weapons Control Center, and is legal adviser to the National Commission on Terrorism and special advisor to the Interpol Program on Prevention of Bio-Crimes, which he initiated.
