Mentor training is offered

The ISBA Committee on Mentoring will present a one-hour mentor training seminar at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, during the Midyear Meeting at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel.

Committee chair Jill P. O'Brien of Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin & Tominberg, Chicago, is moderator of the program and a panelist.

Other speakers are committee secretary Janet L. Grove of Armstrong & Grove, Mattoon, and committee member Peter L. Rotskoff of Springfield, litigation group manager of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission.

Objectives of the seminar are to elevate the competence, professionalism and success of Illinois lawyers by creating mentoring relationships in which experienced lawyers can provide guidance, practical knowledge and skills to others.

Discussion topics include policies and procedures for agreements, waivers and client confidentiality; rules for mentors, and personal mentoring styles that either facilitate or impede successful experiences.

This seminar is accredited for 1.0 hour of MCLE.
