Women's Bar will present Women with Vision honors

Chicago attorney Peggy A. Davis, vice president for diversity at the Exelon Corp., will receive the Women with Vision Award for Law on Thursday, Nov. 16, from the Women's Bar Association of Illinois.

Administrative Law Judge Ann Breen-Greco of the Illinois State Board of Education, a member of the ISBA Administrative Law Section Council, will receive the Community Service Award.

The presentations will take place during the 65th annual joint professional dinner, beginning with a 5:30 p.m. reception, at the Westin River North Hotel, Chicago.

Other award recipients are: Mary Crego of State Farm Insurance (Business), Sandy Goldberg of WMAQ-TV (Media), and Dr. Kerstin M. Stenson of the University of Illinois Hospitals (Medicine).

Central Illinois Paralegal

Associate Prof. Tom Higgins, paralegal program director at Illinois Central College, will speak to the Central Illinois Paralegal Association during a dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in room 303 of the Midstate College Campus, Peoria.

Chicago Council

Presiding Judge Paul P. Biebel Jr. of the Cook County Criminal Division will receive the Commitment to Justice Award during a luncheon Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Chicago Athletic Association.

The event will be the 37th annual meeting of the Chicago Council of Lawyers and the ninth annual meeting of Chicago Appleseed. Lynn Sweet, Washington bureau chief for the Chicago Sun-Times, will be keynote speaker.

 

Cook County Bar

The DuPage County Bar Association will receive an Outstanding Service Award from the National Safety Council for the driver improvement school it conducts in conjunction with traffic court supervision.
