GAL training program slated

A live panel consisting of judges, an experienced lawyer who serves as guardian ad litem, and a clinical psychologist focusing on child and adolescent issues will augment a two-day video replay of the ISBA GAL training seminar.

The presentation will take place Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 30-31 at The Chateau in Bloomington. It features video of a live seminar originally presented in August in Collinsville by the Family Law and Bench and Bar sections.

The panel in Bloomington includes Chief Judge Elizabeth Robb and Associate Judge Rebecca Simmons Foley of the 11th Circuit, Judge Jerelyn Maher of the 10th Circuit, Judge Arnold Blockman of the 6th Circuit, Bloomington attorney Helen Ogar, and clinical psychologist Benjamin Moore.

Attendance at both days of the seminar will provide 10 hours of training, which meets Illinois Supreme Court educational requirements for guardians ad litem.

Access the Web site, www.isba.org, for registration details. Video presentations also may be scheduled in other locations at future dates.
