CLE accredited Good news, although not unexpected, for new ISBA members who attended the three-day basic skills course conducted last month in Chicago. The Illinois Supreme Court Minimum Continuing Education Board and Com-mission on Professionalism confirmed on Aug. 15 that content of the basic skills program was reviewed, accredited and approved for 15 hours of MCLE, including four hours of professional responsibility. As developed jointly by the ISBA and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education the course allowed each participant to fulfill the 15-hour basic skills requirement for lawyers admitted to the Illinois bar since Jan. 1, 2006. The ISBA plans to offer similar courses at appropriate intervals for future classes of new lawyers. |
