Cook County resumes series of free mediation programs

The Cook County Circuit Court Law and Chancery Divisions will resume a schedule of free brown-bag luncheon seminars on court-annexed mediation in October.

Co-sponsored by the ISBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, the monthly programs for judges, lawyers and mediators take place from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. in courtroom 2005 of the Richard J. Daley Center.

Thursday, Oct. 11 – Mediation presentation by the Association for Conflict Resolution.

Thursday Nov. 8 – Tales from the Front Line, or What I've Learned in 1,400 Court Mediations, by H. Case Ellis of Crystal Lake, a member of the ISBA Board of Governors.

Thursday, Dec. 13 – Update on Alternative Dispute Resolution Law: John G. Laurie on arbitration, and Thomas Kavanagh on mediation.

Topics and speakers for programs during 2008 will be announced.
