ISBA leaders recognized among '40 under Forty' Urbana attorney Keith E. Fruehling, a member of the ISBA Board of Governors and chair of the Task Force on the Unauthorized Practice of Law, has been named one of “40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch.” The annual publication of Law Bulletin Publishing Company recognizes younger lawyers who already have distinguished themselves in practice, leadership and public service. Fruehling, a civil litigation partner in Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen, was honored by the ISBA in 2002 as a Young Lawyer of the Year. A graduate of The John Marshall Law School, he is a Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation and a member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates. Also named one of “40 Under Forty” is ISBA Assembly member Katherine A. Amari of Amari & Locallo, Chicago, a former assistant Cook County state's attorney who practices in real estate taxation law and appeals. A Silver Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation, Amari is treasurer of the Justinian Society of Lawyers and second vice president of the John Marshall Law School Alumni Association. Among others on the list are Chicago attorneys Moria A. Bernstein, a graduate of the Chicago-Kent College of Law who served on the ISBA Human Rights Section Council, and Craig M. Sandberg of Muslin & Sandberg, a John Marshall graduate who was on the Young Lawyers Division Council. The deadline for nominating a 2008 “40 Under Forty” candidate is May 1.
