The limitations defenses in the Medical Practice Act and the Code of Civil Procedure do not apply to the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Law, and the legislature intended that no limitation apply to license revocations pursuant to the Regulation Law. Although previously professionals could keep their licenses upon conviction of certain sexual assault, criminal battery, or forcible felony offenses, license revocation is now mandated for such convictions. Res judicata does not apply, in license revocation proceedings, to IDPR's orders entered under prior law. (ROCHFORD and DELORT, concurring.)
