Justin Heather, of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, was selected to receive the Young Lawyer of the Year Award forCook County. Congratulations to Amie and Justin!

The commercial sexual exploitation of children in the United States, often referred to as “modern day slavery,” is a multi-million-dollar industry supported by revenue from prostitution and pornography.

On February 19th, the ISBA Women and the Law Committee co-sponsored a National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations’ (“NCWBA”) program titled “A Closer Look: NAWL’s 2007 Survey of Women in Law Firms.”

- Tips on what to do if your purse is stolen
Approximately eight months ago I had my purse stolen out of my shopping cart in a department store. I thought my purse was safe, because I had it covered up with my coat. Boy, was I wrong.
- Annual outreach and networking event
In April, the ISBA’s Women and the Law and the Minority and Women Participation Committee participated jointly in an outreach to Southern Illinois University students and facility.
