Sherwin J. Braun, AIA received his Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture in 1960 from the University of Illinois. He holds architectural licensure in the states of Illinois, Florida and Wisconsin and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Mr. Braun is an award-winning architect and developer who has served as President of the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, Chairman Commissioner of the Village of Glenview Appearance Commission, Board Member of the Chicago Region-American Arbitration Association Construction Advisory Council, Treasurer of the Chicago American Institute of Architects and served as a Council Member of the Illinois Council of the American Institute of Architects.

Mr. Braun draws from over forty years of experience and began his career by interning at an internationally recognized architectural firm, Harry Weese and Associates. During his early professional years he authored specifications for the Washington, D.C. subway system, the Time/Life building in Chicago, The Seventeenth Church of Christ in Chicago, the RIT Library in Rochester, New York and various other projects for a period of seven years.

In 1968 Mr. Braun started Brim/Braun Associates, a twelve person architectural firm which grew into Braun/Skiba, Ltd., a thirty person firm with such clients as Centrum Properties, LLC, Lexington Development Corporation, Fifield Development Corporation, W.W. Grainger, Inc., John O. Butler Company, Joseph J. Freed and Associates, Chicago Board of Education, Walgreens, Borders Books and the Kmart Corporation. His involvement with these respected clients has given him the expertise in planning, designing, developing and building successful residential and commercial projects.

In 1996, Mr. Braun co-founded Terrapin Properties, LLC, a full-service residential and commercial real estate development firm. He continued with this firm until December, 2005.

Sherwin is now S. Braun Architect devoted to architecture, construction and dispute resolution consulting in the construction industry.
