What are cookies?
A cookie is a passcode stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. ISBA cookies do not contain any personal information. (We give *you* the cookie, containing a passcode which is the same for all members.)

Why do you use them?

Parts of our website are available only to ISBA members. We use cookies for your convenience, so that you will not have to fill in a gate form for each members-only page you wish to view. In fact, once you have a cookie, you may be able to use the members-only portion of our site for up to 6 months without seeing another gate, since we can verify your membership via the cookie instead. (When you use a different computer, or get enough other cookies that ours is pushed out of your system's memory, you'll see the gate again, and be given another cookie when you pass through it.)

We also use session cookies to keep track of temporary information. For example, cookies keep your shopping cart from inadvertently being used by others.

What about privacy?

Accepting a cookie from us in no way gives us access to your computer or any personal information about you. Only www.isba.org can read the cookie we set, and we cannot read cookies set by other sites.

Do I have to allow ISBA to set a cookie?

Public areas of www.isba.org can be accessed with cookies disabled. However paid members-only areas do require that cookies be enabled. This helps us ensure that everyone using these areas is paying their dues, just like you are; and in turn, helps keeps the cost of dues down.
