FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 2004
The award, given to an ISBA member who is considered a "lawyer's lawyer," was presented during the ISBA's annual awards luncheon June 18 during the Annual Meeting at The Abbey in Fontana, Wis.
In his nomination letter, Chris E. Freese, an associate circuit judge in the Sixth Judicial Circuit, wrote that he had "never encountered an attorney who better exemplifies the work ethic, integrity and professionalism that Maville possesses."
Despite being a solo practitioner, Maville, who was admitted to the bar in 1967, has always found time for community service. A volunteer lawyer for Prairie State Legal Services, he sits on the boards of the Boone County Council on Aging's Endowment Group steering committee and on the District 100 Foundation for Excellence in Education's steering committee.
He is past president of the Belvidere Jaycees and of the Boone County Bar Association. Previously an instructor in the Police Science program at Rock Valley College in Rockford, he is a frequent speaker for various classes at Belvidere High School and North Boone High School.
He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1967.
The 30,000-member ISBA, with offices in Springfield and Chicago, provides professional services to Illinois lawyers, and education and services to the public.
