Umberto Davi Installed as Second Vice President of Illinois State Bar Association

Umberto Davi, of Willowbrook, a principal in the Western Springs Law Firm of Umberto S. Davi, P.C., has been installed second vice president of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA). Previously, he served as third vice president and will be installed as president in June 2015-16.

Davi, whose law practice concentrates in family law and real estate, was first elected to the ISBA Board of Governors in 1998 and was re-elected in 2004, 2008 and again in 2011. Since becoming an ISBA member in 1982, he has served on the ISBA’s 201-member Assembly and has been active on numerous committees.

A past president of the Cook County Justinian Society of Lawyers, Davi has served as president of the Willowbrook Police Pension Board for more than ten years and is a Willowbrook Village trustee. He also is an Emeritus Trustee of The John Marshall Law School. A native of Italy, he helped establish the Sicilian American Cultural Association, and is a lifetime member of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans.

He is a member of several organizations including the American Bar Association, DuPage and Will County bar associations, West Suburban Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association, DuPage County Justinian Society of Lawyers, Illinois Bar Foundation, and the Western Springs Business Association.

Davi received his law degree from The John Marshall Law School, with Distinction, in 1982. A member of its alumni board, he was its president in 2005-06. He received his undergraduate degree in 1976 from Western Illinois University, in Macomb, where he was a member of the National Honor Society.

Davi has been married to his wife Janet for 34 years. He is the proud father of four boys, Dion (Kelly), an attorney in Wheaton; Michael, 2011 graduate of Western Illinois University; Ryan, 2013 graduate of Augustana College; and Evan, a junior at Purdue University; and two grandchildren, Tia and Nico.
