CBA, CDEL plan major events

The Chicago Bar Association will conduct its annual Earl Burrus Dickerson Award reception and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, in the Grand Ballroom of the Standard Club.

The awards will be presented to former Cook County public defender Rita A. Fry, president of RAF Consulting Inc., and Eileen M. Letts of Greene & Letts. Call (312) 554-2057 for reservations.

The Center for Disability and Elder Law will hold a benefit Winter Awards Gala from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago. Joel Daly will be master of ceremonies.

Cook County Assessor James M. Houlihan will receive a Public Interest Award, and the inaugural Eamon Shannon Award will be presented to Tomas M. Thompson of Locke, Lord, Bissell & Liddell. Call (312) 376-1880 for reservations.
