Search conducted for ISBA counsel

Initial interviews of qualified candidates for ISBA general counsel are being conducted this month by executive staff members, and three to five finalists will face additional interviewing by ISBA officers in March.

In the interim, former general counsel Mary T. McDermott is being retained on an hourly basis, as needed, until her successor is appointed. McDermott resigned last month to begin studies for a master's degree in education.

The candidate pool was created with responses to an announcement on the ISBA Web site and advertisements that were placed in various media.
