Thomas K. Prindable, managing partner of Clifford Law Offices in Chicago, was named Pro Bono Attorney for February by Illinois Legal Aid Online.
Prindable received a Distinguished Service Award in November from Chicago Volunteer Legal Services for organizing lawyers in his firm to provide pro bono assistance to the disabled and elderly.
Under his leadership, volunteers have participated in the CVLS guardian ad litem program in the Cook County Probate Division.

Judge J. Phil Gilbert of U.S. District Court for the Southern District was awarded a silver gavel during a Martin Luther King Jr. dinner in January in St. Louis.
The award is given in memory of former Judge William L. Beatty by members of the federal criminal defense bars of the Southern District of Illinois and Easter District of Missouri.

State Sen. Donald F. Harmon of Oak Park received an Award of Excellence in the Field of Law on March 7 during the annual Saint Ignatius College Prep Law Society luncheon in Chicago. U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald was given an honorary diploma.

Tomas M. Thompson of Locke, Lord, Bissell & Liddell, Chicago received the Eamon Shannon Special Education Award from the Center for Disability and Elder Law during its winter awards gala on March 6.
A senior litigation associate, Thompson has handled several juvenile court cases pro bono and has helped students with disabilities receive the services and facilities they need.

Mark D. Pearlstein of Levenfeld Pearlstein, Chicago, received a 2008 Leadership Award from the Chicago chapter of Institute of Real Estate Management during a Feb. 1 dinner.
Current chair of the Illinois Legislative Action Committee of Community Associations Institute, Pearlstein was honored for his leadership role in enhancing the reputation of the real estate industry.
Bryan I. Schwartz, chair of Levenfeld Pearlstein, has been elected to the board of the Eleanor Foundation, which funds services for low-income working women in Chicago.

His half-century of legal practice in the community has included 12 years as attorney for the Morton Grove Park District, six years as corporation counsel, and 15 years as attorney for the Niles Park District.
