ISBA Mutual, state bar team up to provide free research
A fair-sized, growing complement of ISBA members is taking advantage of the free Fastcase accelerated online legal research service that comes with bar membership.
During the most recent 12-month reporting period, a monthly average of 7,602 member log-ins took place. Log-ins peaked in January, with a total of 8,353.
During the same period, a monthly average of 58,579 transactions has been recorded, with the highest total at 68,415 in January.
Fastcase was made available at no charge, exclusively to ISBA members, more than a year ago through a partnership with the ISBA Mutual Insurance Co. (see story above).
The member service is especially valuable to solo practitioners and small firm members who need to reduce overhead to stay competitive. It can be used as a primary research tool, or as a supplemental resource that even a large firm can utilize.
Fastcase is available anyplace where Internet access is available, and that includes the annual ISBA Solo and Small Firm Conference. Both an Internet café and complimentary training in Fastcase will be features of the conference in September.
Access to complete details, including answers to frequently asked questions, may be found at the top of the ISBA Web site home page at http://www.isba.org.
